Newspapers: statement paragraph

Statement:

‘No online news sources are entirely trustworthy’

I somewhat agree to this statement. The reason I agree with this statement is because all news sources to a degree are subjective, meaning that the content they publish is biased to a certain extent. This is done as they have different target audiences. For example a right wing newspaper may publish more conservative views, whereas a left wing newspaper will publish liberal views. Therefore, it can be argued that no online news sources are entirely trustworthy because in the end it all comes down to what the consumer wants to read or expects to read. Another reason why I somewhat agree to this statement is because in the ‘modern world’ there has been an increase in use of new/digital media, therefore people are more vulnerable to hearing such fake news (the increase means that people will start to believe what they read as they become more dependable and reliable on new/digital media. Also, the internet has no boundaries to what it can and can’t publish, so their content could be unreliable.
